The All New Optix | Long Island Eye Doctor
Welcome to the new Optix Family Eyecare. After two years of planning and multiple iterations in our designs with multiple designers and sleepless nights, we are finally fully functional in our beautiful new space….with room to grow.
November, 1984 marked the beginning of our optometric practice occupying 1200 square feet. Fourteen years later, in 1998, we were so excited to move into a new space with 50% larger capacity and plenty of room for growth. Over the next 18 years, we were able to provide a much more advanced level of service to our patients using the most advanced technology available. But we again ran out of space and needed more to continue our goal of enhanced service while improving our available technology for our patients.
On December 21-23, 2015, our amazing team of people moved 18 years of memories and disposed of many years of accumulated nonsense. We moved to a space that was again 50% larger, giving us 2700 square feet of space to provide our services to our patients. We have changed the ambiance and feel to a more sleek design with couches and café tables. We have upgraded our optical gallery with an abundance of new frame designers and styles. We have increased our computerized examination equipment and employed additional staff to make our patients experience memorable.
Dr. Michelle Battaglia-Capogna has joined our team. She is a graduate of my optometric alma mater and has a very endearing personality that I know will be loved by our patients. Dr. Suchi Matalia, will be returning from maternity leave soon. She had a beautiful baby boy. Dr. Meghan Schiffer continues to be a leader and staff educator and has only had excellent reviews by our patients. Dr. Michelle Zalaznick, a Plainview staple for over 35 years is available every week for patient care.
We also welcome Brittany as our new optometric technician and congratulate Gina who will be attending optometry school in the summer. To celebrate 15 years of service to the Optix patients, Gilma was promoted to be our clinic manager and Peggy will continue on as our optical manager. Diane was promoted to head buyer and Jan will continue as our lab manager. Sharon, as always keeps our front desk running smoothly and efficiently. She continues to be our insurance and vision plan expert.
And of course, Judy Kestenbaum and Evan Kestenbaum are the family members keeping Optix Family Eyecare as just that……… Family. We welcome all of our prior patients and all new patients into our new home. The one thing we haven’t changed is our desire to continue to be the best eye care provider on Long Island. Thank you for choosing Optix for your care.
Your Vision, Your Look, Our Focus.
