What does your newborn baby see when they are born.  At first babies are very nearsighted so they cannot see very well.  Their vision is between 20/200 and 20/400 which corresponds to the big Baby VisionE on the eye chart. Babies best vision is at about a foot away from their faces.  For the first three months they will be developing face recognition, color vision and eye coordination.

Helpful toys at this time would be a brightly colored mobile that turns and a mirror. You will notice that your baby is starting to recognize familiar faces and following simple objects. Have fun watching your newborns  as they develop their new found sight.
